We are thrilled to announce and delighted to invite you to participate in an exciting educational event, the “Cytopathology Updates”, a conjoint workshop of the Croatian Society of Clinical Cytology and the American Society of Cytopathology, which will take place in Split, on October 11-12, 2024.
This highly interactive, practical and morphology-oriented workshop will cover a wide range of scientific topics, demonstrating new developments, innovative techniques and recent terminology updates in the dynamic field of cytopathology. The workshop will not only be of great interest to the more experienced practicing cytopathologists, but also to junior pathologists/cytopathologists who are new to the field, as well as trainees and students who are trying to explore Cytopathology as their future subspeciality. The workshop will also be extremely useful and informative to cytotechnologists, scientists and other medical specialists involved in cytopathology.
The general format of presentations would consist of didactic lectures that will be followed by interactive case studies/slide seminars and virtual slide sessions, meant to enrich each attendee’s experience. The interactive discussions will provide plenty of opportunities to interact with the speakers in an up, close and personal fashion during and after the sessions.
The range of topics will include FNA and exfoliative cytology, role of ancillary testing such as molecular techniques and their application in routine cytology, terminology and reporting updates and their role in clinical management algorithms.
The city of Split is an attractive, well-known and popular tourist destination, and the warm and pleasant weather of early autumn will give visitors a great opportunity to enjoy and explore this historical city. Founded as a Greek colony and then several centuries later, in the year 305 AD, became the site of the famous palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. As the largest city on the Croatian coast, it is also very lively and offers many numerous attractions.
